Jeroen van der Heijden is a Research Fellow at the Regulatory Institutions Network (ANU) and an Assistant Professor at the Centre of Law and Economics, Univeristy of Amsterdam (the Netherlands). He previously held a position as Assistant Professor at Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands, 2009-2011), and was a Visiting Fellow at the University of Oxford (UK, 2010-2011). He is trained as an Architect and holds a PhD in public policy. His current research is funded through a 4-year research grant by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research.
Jeroen’s interest is in sustainable development and climate change policy. His current research addresses sustainability of the built environment and sustainable water management. His research agenda includes topics such as voluntary environmental governance arrangements; public participation in sustainable development; and, institutional design for addressing climate change related risks. Jeroen’s work is cross-national in nature and currently includes studies in Australia, Germany, Spain, Hungary, the Netherlands and the UK.
