Climate change is already changing the bioclimatic environment of species. In the future, climate change will have a huge impact on the World's biodiversity and could ultimately transform the whole ecosystem as well as shift crop cultivation zones. Being able to forecast future climatic shocks and its impact on people, species and crops is essentail for prepardness planning. The ANU has developed a suite of software programs such ANUCLIM and ANUSPLIN that can fit continuous climate surfaces (precipitation and temperture) to noisy climate data.
