Transport and parking

The University's goal is to minimise the environmental impact of university-related travel, reduce the number of vehicles travelling to campus and promote sustainable transport options. It can also be hard to find parking at ANU so we suggest you walk, cycle, or use public transport or rideshare where possible.

It can be very hard to find parking at ANU, particularly during the day. Arrive early and allow plenty of time to find a park and walk to your destination.

Parking restrictions apply 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Permit, Pay As You Go, Pay & Display (ticket) and time-limited zones are in force from 8am–5pm Monday to Friday. Public holidays are excepted.

See all parking options on campus. Visit the ANU's interactive map to see where visitors can park on campus - Find a visitor car park

Pay As You Go

Pay As You Go car parks are run by CellOPark (396KB PDF). Register on the CellOPark website or download the mobile app. To save time, we recommend that you register on Cellopark before you come to campus.

There are also ticketed car parks that accept coins and cards.

Kambri car park

There is a ticketless car park on the city-side of campus under the Kambri Cultural Centre. The entrance is near the at the end of Kingsley Street. For Google Maps directions to the venue and car park - click here.

Accessible parking

Disability parking bays are available across campus for holders of Australian mobility permits.

ANU GoGet Carshare

There are 20 GoGet cars on campus. They can be used by visitors and ANU staff and students.

The Acton campus has over forty enclosures with enough storage for more than 2,000 bikes. The best way to find out about bicycle shelters on campus is to look under ‘outdoor facilities’ on the ANU map here.

More information on cycling at the ANU can be found here. We recommend using Google Maps to find the best cycle path to ANU.

For all public transport or active transport options in the ACT, see the ACT Government's Transport Canberra website. You can use their journey planner to find the best options for you.
